Options in agricultural research abound

Only very few of us know that our country has perhaps the biggest infrastructure for agricultural research in the world. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is the apex body for co-ordinating, guiding, and managing research and education in agriculture including horticulture, fisheries, and animal sciences in the entire country. It is an autonomous organisation under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. (ICAR, Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi 110 114; www.icar.org.in)

There are nearly a hundred institutes and fifty universities under ICAR. It nurtures the noble vision of ensuring food and income security for all, through technological innovations and sustainable agriculture. Here is a list of the several units under ICAR.
