1306 students booked for malpractices during matric exam

After booking nearly 840 students on the first day of the matriculation examination on Wednesday, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) squads have booked 1306 students for malpractice on the second day of the examination today.
"All the students have been booked for resorting to unfair means during the examinations. They were caught copying in the exams by the members of the squad," informed the BSE president Satyakam Mishra.
        
Mishra further informed that as many as 11 school teachers have now been placed under suspension for abetting malpractices in the examinations. While 11 teachers belong to Dhenkanal district, a lone one was from Jagatsinghpur district.
         
In Dhenkanal, the school circle inspector has ordered suspension of seven teachers while the district collector has suspended four teachers, sources said. All these teachers, including two school headmasters acting as center superintendent were charged with dereliction of duties.
         
Similarly, the BSE squads also came across as many as four fake students, two each from Aska and Khurdha who were writing the papers for genuine students. The impersonators were handed over to police and their fate was not known yet till this report was prepared.
