The 13-year-old student who was suspended for allegedly posting profanities on his principal’s Facebook wall has been asked to come back to school from Thursday. The decision was arrived at following a marathon meeting between the school management and his parents on Wednesday.
“We have agreed to reinstate the boy,’’ said an official of Vile Parle’s M P Shah English High School after the almost eight-hour meeting that ended at 5 pm. “We are happy that the principal finally agreed to let our son attend classes from Thursday, especially in the light of the fact that his exams are starting from the end of next month,” the class VIII student’s father told TOI.
Incidentally, the teenager and his parents were asked to come to the school on Wednesday morning but were not allowed to talk to the principal for almost two hours. “School officials arrived at 9.30 am and only after that were we allowed to enter the school. Initially, even the management was not ready to hear our side of the story but finally they accepted our stand,” added the father.
When asked to divulge what exactly transpired in the meeting , an official said, “The issue has been resolved. There is nothing more say.” The boy was suspended from the school for a month after the principal accused him of the prank. His parents, however, claimed that it was their son’s friend who had played the prank.
