The Rajasthan government said it will set up medical colleges on public-private partnership model in the state.

"The government will consider proposals and extend its help for setting up medical colleges on public-private partnership model," Medical and Health Minister A A Khan told the state Assembly in reply to a query by BJP MLA Digambar Singh.
The government had received a proposal from Vedanta group for setting up a medical college with an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore in Bharatpur. Thirty acre land was allotted for the project and the acquisition process was started on October 29, 2010, but it was stayed by the High Court, he said.

The project in Bharatpur will soon be taken after reviewing technical and other aspects, he said.
