Maharashtra CM announces scholarships for students of classical music

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan today announced here that state government would grant scholarships for students of classical music in memory of late maestro Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.
Chavan also said the government would institute an annual life-time achievement award in the field of classical music.
   
Inaugurating an art gallery named after the late singer, Chavan said "art is a backbone of our culture. `Bharat-ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Art Gallery' is a project through which we can introduce different forms of arts to our new generation."
