India and Norway have agreed to consider granting of equivalence to graduate-level courses offered by them.
At the second meeting of the joint working group of the two countries on cooperation in the field of education here, both the sides agreed to enhance institution to institution collaboration and cooperation in research activities.
The Indian side was led by Secretary in Department of Higher Education Vibha Puri Das and the Norwegian side was led by Secretary General in Ministry of Education and Research Trond Fevolden.
To start with, about five institutions of both the countries may engage with each other to have joint research, exchange of faculty and exchange of students.
Arrangements could be considered for allowing students of such institutions to study for a semester or year in the institutions of the other country, said a statement issued by the HRD Ministry.
The two sides also agreed to have visits of academic administrators as also of select faculty to understand each other's system and to enhance collaboration.
The Indian side particularly evinced interest to understand the vocational education system of Norway for developing a national vocational qualification framework here, the statement said.
The Indian side also proposed "twinning" of selected schools of both countries, particularly through ICT to develop better understanding, it said.
