Prof Satapathy selected for Srivani award

Prof Harekrushna Satapathy, distinguished educationist and vice-chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit University at Tirupati has been selected for the
prestigious 'Ramakrishna Jayadayal Dalmia Srivani Alankaran Award' for his Sanskrit epic 'Bharatnatyam'.
The award, instituted by Dalmia Charitable Trust, carries a cash prize of Rs two lakh, a citation, an idol and a shawl.
 
Prof Satpathy would receive the award at a special function scheduled to be held in Delhi on February 26, a release said today.
 
Recipient of many awards like Orissa Sahitya Akademi Award, Delhi Sanskrit Akademy Award and Visvakabi Rabindranath Tagore award, Satapathy expressed happiness over his slection and said he would continue to contribute further to the field of Sanskrit and higher education.
 
Before joining as vice-chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit University, he had worked as vice-chancellor and chairman of PG Council of Shri Jagannath Sanskrit University, Puri and a professor of Sanskrit of Revenshaw University at Cuttack.
