With more and more students being interested in aviation and centres or for that matter courses abroad being either very expensive or too far flung, here’s an interesting bit of news. The UAE plans to set up an Aerospace Research and Innovation Centre (ARIC) in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with global academic and industrial institutions.
The Khalifa University and Mubadala Aerospace signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up the centre at the university’s campus. This will be the first step towards setting up an academic research consortium led by the university in collaboration with local and global academic and industrial institutions.
The ARIC’s research hub in the UAE will develop new technologies for the aerospace sector. Said Jasim Al Ali, Senior Business Development Manager of Mubadala Aerospace, “We are committed to fostering greater collaboration between the Abu Dhabi academic entities and the aerospace sector.”
The key objective will be to develop innovations that have an international commercial applicability through collaboration between academic and industrial organisations, IANS reports.
