Chemical Research Society plans wide range of activities

The Chemical Research Society of India has planned a wide range of activities in India for 2011, declared as the International Year of Chemistry by
the United Nations.
The CRSI would hold chemistry demonstrations for students, organise workshops of chemistry teachers all over the country, establish and award prize for chemistry teachers at graduate and post-graduate levels and seek to popularise achievements of chemistry.

The CRSI would undertake printing of materials for free distribution (under-graduate and post-graduate levels) -- periodic table and physical constants being used in chemistry for ready-reckoning and others.

It is going to inaugurate the IYC 2011 here tomorrow at a function, where eminent scientist Prof C N R Rao, would deliver a lecture. A book authored by him would be released for distribution.

On the occasion of IYC 2011, C N R Rao Education Foundation has instituted an award with CRSI, "C N R Rao National Prize for Chemical Research", to be given away annually from 2011.

The proposed activities of CRSI were detailed at a press conference addressed by Prof C N Rao, CRSI President V Krishnan, Vice-President S Chandrasekaran, Secretary General U Maitra and Secretary S Ramakrishnan today.
