M R Srinivasan to head BU advisory council

Bangalore: Former Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission Prof MR Srinivasn will head the Bangalore University(BU) Advisory Council, which will guide the varsity on its vision for the next four years(2009-13). The other members of the Council are former Bangalore University V-C K Siddappa, former scientific advisor to Government of India Dr Vasudev K Aatre, former University of Agricultural Sciences Dharwad V-C Prof M Mahadevappa, former University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore V-C Prof Bisalaiah, environmentalist A N Yellappa Reddy, BU V-C Dr N Prabhu Dev, and BU Registrar Dr Sanjay Vir Singh.

The terms of reference for the council includes: overall development of the university in tune with UGC and MHRD guidelines, roadmap for e-governance, development of infrastructure, introduction of new/novel courses, measures to bridge urban-rural gap, ways and means of improving finances of the university. The Council will hold its first meeting on Monday
