Bangalore: The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) held on Sunday posed no major surprises for students, despite a change in the question format this year. Around 830 candidates appeared for the examination at the National Law School, Bangalore for admissions to 11 National Law Universities across the country.

National Law School Bangalore Registrar V Nagaraj said that no complaints were received by the students who appeared for the exam on Sunday.

This year, the paper featured a change in pattern with questions on legal aptitude being replaced with questions on legal general knowledge. The 200 questions paper, includes 40 questions on English, 50 on General Knowledge, 20 on Math, 45 on legal GK, and 45 on logical reasoning.

Juhi Gupta, a candidate who took the test, says “The change in the question pattern has been easier than imagined. With adequate training, it was easy for us to manage’’. Juhi also pointed that since the paper was prepared by NALSAR Hyderabad, it would not be as difficult as last year when NLS Bangalore had prepared the paper. Tanuja Vasudev, head of Career Launcher in Bangalore, said that the general perception among students after the exam was that it was easy. “The pattern change has paradoxically made the paper easier than expected”
