Vocational training institutes and most management colleges do not have playgrounds, the latest survey of academic institutions in Navi Mumbai has revealed.
Drama is popular in all colleges among extracurricular activities. Though most colleges offer cultural and art activities to students, vocational and polytechnic colleges have limited facilities for drama, fashion shows, orchestra, photography, interior designing and reality shows.
Around 33 per cent colleges have no playground and manage events by hiring them. Though cricket is played in 80 per cent colleges, hockey, khokho and kabaddi are available only in 29, 47 and 46 per cent colleges respectively.

Interior decoration: Preferred by colleges of education
Photography: Popular in medical, engineering colleges
Orchestra: Popular in medical, engineering students
Fashion shows: Held mainly in medical, BEd and management colleges
Dancing & acting: Colleges of education hold them the most, followed by medical colleges
