Whistling Woods International (WWI), Asia's largest Film, Television, Animation and Media Arts institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Film and Media Arts, Buenos Aires (INCAA). The MoU will allow WWI and INCAA in assisting each other in the dissemination of films of both nations as well as developing programs, projects and tasks together to encourage co-production between the two countries and the enrichment of student film-makers from both the nations.
The MoU was signed between John J Lee Jr on behalf of WWI and Romulo Nestor Pullol in his capacity as General Manager of INCAA.
The agreement aims at bringing together two cultures that share a passion for film-making. This exchange will not only bring world-wide recognition and global exposure but also aid students of both countries to evaluate and reflect on the cultural realities, differences and limitations which inhibit the film-makers of today. By providing tools for dialogue and democratic participation, WWI and INCAA aspire to promote critical thinking and skills which can be used to create spaces for expression and exchange of ideas.
Speaking on the occasion Lee remarked, “We at WWI constantly endeavour to associate ourselves with world-renowned film institutes so that our students are not only exposed to global standards of film-making but also get an opportunity to exhibit their talent on an international platform. These students then go on to make films of myriad genres as they get an in-depth analysis of films being created by students across the globe. We are truly honoured with this alliance as INCAA arguably has a competitive advantage in segments within creative industries, notably screen production and post-production, and enjoys a growing recognition across a number of various arenas.”
Announcing the alliance Pullol said, “We aim to reach all places of the Argentine territory where there is room to work around our films through screenings, film discussions, recreation, among others. This alliance with WWI will provide our students with a world-class experience of how meaningful cinema can be created with the right guidance and excellent facilities. We are beyond doubt privileged to have access to this great institute and its on-going activities which our students will not only get to experience but also relate to at a deeper level. This is truly an opportunity which we are ecstatic about and hope to create wonderful cinema, keeping in mind the Indian aspect of film-making.”
