CMs action on unitary universities appreciated

The Tamil Researchers Forum has welcomed Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's clarification that the Govt will not act against interests of teachers and students in the 'Unitary Universities creation issue.'

At the state level meeting of the forum held at Mayiladuthurai today, a resolution was passed thanking the Chief Minister for the announcement.
 
Durai Gunasekaran, President of the forum recalled that on Dec 9, the forum had sent an electronic mail to the Chief Minister expressing its opposition on the issue of creation of unitary universities.
 
"The Chief Minister has now announced that the Government will act against the interests of the students and the teachers, who shape their future," he said.
  
The forum has sent a letter to the Chief Minister welcoming his decision and thanking him for the same, he added.
