United States India Educational Foundation (USIEF), in collaboration with the American Center, Kolkata, organized the 11th International Education Week (IEW) from November 15-19. Inaugurated by Chad P. Cummins, director of the American Center, the week long annual event concluded with a cultural presentation by American and Indian Fullbrighters. Consul General Beth A. Payne inaugurated the closing day cultural program.
A joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, this year's IEW theme was 'International Education: Striving for a Sustainable Future.'
USIEF Kolkata organized a series of events such as creative arts and poster competitions, quiz, seminars and an interactive session on student visa, to engage students, scholars and professionals in dialogue about international education. .
Involving current American Fullbrighters and Indian alumni in its IEW activities, the joint initiative aims to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment, and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.
