Engineering counselling starts from July 5

Chennai: Anna Varsity's counselling to engineering courses through single window system, commences from July 5.

Counselling for sports quota will start on July 5, followed by counselling for vocational students from July 6 to 8.

K. Ponmudi, higher education minister said 'Students from other states would attend the counselling on July 20 and physically challenged students would take their counselling on July 9. Counselling for regular students will begin on July 10 and end on August 16, 15 days ahead of last year,' he said.

Engineering aspirants can get application forms for the government's single window counselling till May 30 and submit the forms by May 31 and students would be assigned random numbers on June 20 and the ranklist would be published on June 25.

A total of 2,160 seats had been added to government-aided engineering colleges. In recent times the government has started five new engineering colleges with 1,200 seats.

The state will now have an additional 3,360 seats for the government's single window counselling. The total number of seats available for government counselling increases nearly three thousand more than last year.
