Three public sector units evince interest in medical colleges

Three public sectors have evinced interest to open medical college hospitals in Jharkhand, a senior goverment official said.

"The Steel Authority of India has agreed in principle to open a medical college hospital in Bokaro," Chief Secretary A K Singh told newsmen here.
"The proposal for A 150-seat medical college hospital has to be placed before the board of directors of SAIL. I spoke to Union steel secretary recently and got a positive response. We hope SAIL will be the first to open a medical college hospital in the state," he added.

Singh said that he had on Wednesday spoke to additional secretary of Union coal ministry Alok Parti, who said the Centre was serious to allow the Eastern Coalfields
Limited to open a medical colloge hospital in Deogarh/Dumka.

The third proposal was of the Central Coalfields Limited which required to raise its existing hospital capacity to 350-bed.

The state has also decided to provide all facilities to any private sector willing to set up nursing training institute in the state.
