Indiana University partners with O P Jindal Global University

Ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit to India, US-based Indiana University (IU) today announced its collaboration with O P Jindal Global University
(JGU) of Haryana.
Announcing the collaboration, Indiana University President Michael A McRobbie said, "As the world's largest democracy, India presents enormous opportunities for our
professional school students to prepare for leadership roles in today's global economy."

The collaboration will establish, maintain and enhance interaction between JGU and three of IU's professional schools -- Maurer School of Law, Kelley School of Business and School of Public and Environmental Affairs -- along with the IU
Center on Philanthropy.

Expressing his pleasure over the initiative, Vice Chancellor of JGU Professor C Raj Kumar said, "We are honoured to enter into this collaboration.

"It will create knowledge and develop the professional skills of our students by introducing them to a wide variety of graduate-level experiences within the US educational system, while allowing American students first-hand interaction with the rapidly growing Indian economy."

Prof. Jayanth Krishnan, who heads the India Law Program conducted by Maurer School of Law, said, "To my knowledge, this is the first time that an Indian and a US university have entered into such a wide-ranging collaboration across several professional disciplines."
