'Technological varsity at Kakinada to be made top class'

Union Minister of State for Defence M Pallam Raju said the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) at Kakinada near here will be developed as a "world level" varsity.

The JNTU has produced many top-class professors, scientists and others. It has a history of achieving good results besides providing excellent teaching facilities, he said at a function in the varsity campus.

"We have decided to improve the JNTU on the lines of world level university," he said.

Raju also attended a function organised to mark the opening of a new branch of the District cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) here.
