The Karnataka government would recruit 8,000 school teachers by March next to fill vacancies caused by retirement of teachers, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri said today.
Speaking to reporters here, he said no teacher had retired in the last two years after the retirement age was increased from 58 to 60 years.
He alleged that the centre was discriminating against Karnataka while sanctioning High Schools under National Middle School Programme and said only 80 such schools have been approved for the state so far.
