Imagine sitting for your IITJEE coaching classes in Kolkata with your instructor in Mumbai. Achin Agarwal and students from Kolkata's premier institutes have made it possible for students to do just that.
Achin, a final-year student student of Computer Science and Engineering, at IIT Kharagpur, has teamed up with graduates from IIM Ahmedabad and ISI Kolkata to start virtual classes for IITJEE/AIEEE in Eastern India.
“We forced a partnership with IITian's Pace, a well-known name for IITJEE training in Western India, for the purpose,” says Achin.
The venture is known as Catalyst Educare (P) Ltd. According to Achin, the classes will be conducted by means of video conferencing from Mumbai. “All the faculty members are themselves either graduates from the IITs or professors at the IITs,” he says.
Achin states that the concept of virtual classes is relatively new for IITJEE training and insists that students in the city will benefit. “It will be an opportunity for students who cannot go to places like Kota to receive quality tutoring for exams like the IITJEE,” he says.
According to Catalyst Educare, students in the East do not have quality teaching, leading to students migrating to other cities to gain access to the facilities.
