Nita Ambani, wife of billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani, will deliver a lecture at the London School of Economics tomorrow on building institutions of excellence in India.
Nita would deliver the 'C+J (sic) Modi/Narayanan PhD Fellowship Lecture' on October 15 and the session would be chaired by eminent businessman Professor Lord Meghnand Desai.
"The speaker (Nita) will share her experiences in building institutions of excellence as well as her vision and values as the nation charts its course towards global leadership," according to the LSE website.
The topic is 'Towards an Indian Renaissance: Building Institutions of Excellence'.
Nita is the chairperson of philanthropy entity Reliance Foundation, Dhirubhai Ambani International School and sports joint venture IMG-Reliance.
She provides leadership to 12 schools which educate 15,000 children and also led the ecological transformation of the Jamnagar Refinery site of Reliance Industries, LSE said.
Nita serves on the Global Board of the World Economic Forum's Global Health Initiative. An exponent of Indian classical dance form Bharatnatyam, she is also the architect of Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team Mumbai Indians.
LSE noted that "World-class institutions of learning and youth development with audacious vision and timeless values are imperative for an India in transition."
