Buoyed over discus thrower Krishna Poonia striking gold in the Commonwealth Games, the Rajasthan government today announced that it will recruit at least 2,000 teachers in physical training and education in the state.
The recruitment would be done through Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) in due course, Education Minister Bhanwarlal Meghawal said inaugurating a synthetic court at a school here.
All vacant posts of Physical Training Instructors in schools would also be filled up in the state schools, he added.
Poonia, who hails from Churu district in Rajasthan and represents Indian railways in national tournaments, created history by breaking India's 52-year-old Commonwealth Games gold medal jinx by winning gold medal in women's discus throw.
