The Orissa government is mulling over the idea of a color code for all state-run school buildings. School and Mass Education Department Minister Pratap Jena said, "We are planning to implement a color code for all school buildings in a phased manner."
"We are holding discussions with experts to finalise which colors would be suitable. We will take a decision shortly. The colouring system will help recognise school buildings from a distance,” he said.
The state had introduced a dress code for girls in government colleges in 2005. It also imposed a dress code for teachers of elementary and upper primary government schools earlier this year.
