The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) one of the foremost management institutes in India, sees thousands of students taking the NMAT every year.
In fact after the several glitches one has been reading about vis-à-vis online management tests, NMAT-2010 was the first successfully conducted entrance exam in this format when it transitioned from the pen and paper format last year.
NMAT 2011 now brings several international features for the benefit of candidates taking the test. For instance, you’ll find that it will have a long window — conducted over a three-month period as against the earlier 10 days. The delivery window from October 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011 will enable you to choose a date and slot according to your preparedness level.
There will also be a self scheduling option, which means that you can schedule the date and time of the test based on seat availability at each centre. Seats however will be offered on first-come-first served basis.
You will also have a choice of a maximum of three attempts to clear NMAT 2011. This means that your best performance can be assessed. The highest aggregate score of all sections for a given attempt out of all the attempts shall be used for evaluation purposes. This re-take option will be open to you 15 days after you have taken the previous attempt.
And what’s more is that there will be no negative marking — hopefully encouraging candidates not to drop a question for fear of deduction in marks. Each candidate taking NMAT 2011 will get a unique but equivalent question paper with test results being declared in a span of 4-5 weeks from the exam delivery.
Declaring the new format Professor Anupam Rastogi, Dean, Admissions, NMIMS said, “We are pleased to have incorporated several candidate-friendly features in NMAT 2011. NMAT indeed is a successful case study on how CBTs (computer-based tests) should be conducted.” The test’s content is designed on a multiple-choice question format that includes Language Skills; Quantitative Skills, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency; and Logical Reasoning.
The NMAT is valid for entry into the
