Karnataka has increased its allocation of funds to the education sector to the tune of Rs 10,500 crore keeping in mind that education is the key factor in human development. This was conveyed by V S Acharya, home minister of the state, at a function organized at Green Park School.
After laying the foundation stone for the proposed residential building for the school, Acharya said that students must develop soft skills, positive attitude and communication skills to meet the challenges of the present competitive world.
He said that under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan scheme, Udupi would get Rs 18 core for overall development of secondary education. Acharya also appreciated the school management's decision to make Scouts and Guides compulsory in the school, as this will inculcate discipline and values to the academic growth of the students.
