On peace

The Gandhi Peace Foundation, Chennai has launched two programmes — Course on Gandhian Thought, which is open book exam on the Autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi. Thirty students have been selected and invited to participate in the ‘Youth for Peace’ workshop to be held on September 30. and October 1 and 2.

The second programme is a Course on Peace Education, organised once in a week in 12 schools(Chennai) and in one college (Tiruchi) for students of Stds. VI to IX. Thirty students have been selected to participate in a workshop to be held on September 28 and 29.

These students will get together on Gandhi Jayanthi, October 2 and share their ideas and actions to build a peaceful world and explore the possibility of forming ‘youth for peace club’ in their schools.

Boarding and lodging will be arranged for three days. Deserving candidates (for one person only) will be provided with II class train fare. Students will be expected to speak in the convention on October 2.

Topics for the workshop:

1.My fashion for peace; 2.Games I play for peace; 3.Electronic gadgets that I use for peace; 4.Media that brings me peace; 5.My micro action for global cooling; 6.My micro action for religious harmony; 7.My inclusive education; 8.My governance for peace; 9.My economics for peace; 10. My method of resolving conflicts for peace.
