Chennai: The Russian centre of Science and Culture in association with Study Abroad is organising a two-day Russian Education Fair in the city from Saturday.

A group representative from ten higher educational institutions will handle the seminars that will be an imperative part of the fair.

Study Abroad Managing Director C. Ravichandran told presspersons on Wednesday that counselling and spot admissions would also be held.

Institutions, including Moscow Aviation Institute, Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Tver State Medical Academy and Moscow Institute of Radio Engineering, are participating in the fair.

Speaking at the press meet, Dean of International Department, Moscow Institute of Radio Engineering, Lobuzov Alexei Arkadievich, said the number of Indian students applying to Russian institutes was on the rise.

The universities admit students by considering their Class XII marks and there is no pre-qualifying examination. This has encouraged many students to seek admission in Russia, says Mr. Ravichandran.

The Russian universities fee structure varies between Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 3 lakh, which include hostel accommodation and study material.

The fair, at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Similar fairs will be conducted in Thiruvananthapuram on May 26 and Kochi on May 27.

Students interested to participate can register their names calling 9282221221 / 42088199 / 24988215 / 24986860.
