A special online service-Students’ Talent Bank (STB) has been set up by a government university called Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU) in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district to provide regular job offers to the students of the university.
The officials of the university claimed that the STB service of the MJPRU was a first-of-its-kind initiative undertaken by any government university in the country. It will benefit over three lakh students currently enrolled in various courses of the university. The STb service would be made available to the students free of cost.
MJPRU Deputy Chief Employment Officer Sumit Mishra said, "The STB service will exclusively cater to the needs of our university. Students opting for the STB service would be provided with suitable job offers regularly."
Students who wish to opt for the service will have to fill an online registration form available on the varsity’s official website from where the potential employers can gain access to it. After the registration, students will have to send their marksheets and other certificates. Thereafter, post-verification the profile of students with necessary details will be available on the website, from where it could be accessed by employers.
"To assist our students in getting jobs, we have roped in several private employers and companies from different fields like engineering and technology, applied sciences, allied sciences, management and commerce. Students registered with the talent bank will get job offers through various means. While any employer could directly call the student on his/her mobile phone, we would also send e-mails regarding career openings or job vacancies to the students on their registered e-mail address" said Mishra.
The STB service would be different from other placement agencies and job portals. They will focus on a limited number of students as opposed to job portals who cater to a wide variety of job seekers. They would also arrange interviews for students at no extra cost. The students who have passed out of the university can also make use of the STB service.
