Programme in Insurance and Sales Management

Bangalore: International Management Institute, Delhi, in association with Max New York Life Insurance announces the launch of a Professional Programme in Insurance and Sales Management. The programme offers professional training in specialised subjects such as Insurance Sales Practices and Management, Insurance Products, Legal and Regulatory Aspects of Life Insurance and will also cover the fields of General and Marketing Management. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Max New York Life Insurance and IMI.

As a part of collaboration, a committee of experts from IMI and Max New York Life Insurance will decide the selection of the candidates for the programme. The students who enroll in the programme will get an assured opportunity to do their summer training with Max New York Life Insurance. In addition, students will also be absorbed in the company, as Full Time Employees (FTEs), subject to their clearing a minimum selection criterion.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajan Kalia, Executive Vice President & Head Human Resources, Max New York Life Insurance, said, “The rapid growth in the Indian insurance industry over the last few years has resulted in an ever increased need for skilled professionals in the sector. Tying up with top line Universities like IMI is a major step for our company to maintain a steady and productive pool of talent. Keeping this approach in mind, we have designed our strategy to partner with niche Universities like IMI to train and develop insurance professionals”.

“Now that we have partnered with IMI, we look forward to providing a strong platform for graduates to learn and build careers in specialised functions of life insurance. On successful completion of the course, they will be offered the position of FTEs at Max New York Life Insurance” he added.

The course is designed to provide students a thorough understanding of the specialised functions of Insurance Management and to enable them to take on challenges from the very first day at work”.

The course curriculum has been developed in such a manner as to bring in the industry perspective in a classroom environment by incorporating both the industry as well as the academic perspective. The duration of the executive programme is over 10 months. Those who are admitted to this course would be offered the position of Associate Sales Managers/Sales Managers as per the criteria jointly decided by Max New York Life Insurance Co.Ltd. and IMI, Delhi, subject to successful completion of the course as per the norms of IMI, Delhi.
