Students of the Achariya World Class Education Institution tried to create a number of records on Sunday, including the longest drawing by an individual, the largest painting made of footprints, the longest cartoon strip by an individual and the longest cartoon strip by a team.
They also took part in the largest umbrella dance, most people painting simultaneously, most people tossing a coin simultaneously, most people shaking hands simultaneously, most post cards sent from one location and most people twirling Indian flags.
Authorities said the Lt. Governor of the region and officials from the Limca Book of World Records, witnessed the attempts.
“I am very happy to say that 10 Guinness records and 10 Limca records have been achieved today in our campus in the presence of our Lieutenant Governor honourable Dr. Iqbal Singh and in the presence of our speaker Thiru. A. V. Sreedharan in the midst of the witness from Limca book of records, madam Aarti Singh, the chief editor of Limca book of records,†said J. Arawindan, chief mentor, Achariya Group of Educational Institutions.
“These 10 records have been done in a big way and I am very happy and I congratulate the students and the staff and the parents who collectively have done this mega record event a big success,†he added.
One of the participants, who eyed a world record for making the longest cartoon strip, said he was proud of his achievement.
“I have done the longest cartoon strip in the world and it is 6.5 inches in height and 160 metres long. I am very happy I have done this and I feel very proud,†said N. Annamalai.
Other students of the school also achieved several other records, including the longest cartoon strip of 716-metre by a team with 358 participants and the largest painting made of footprints by 3,555 students.
