New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) today announced 18 percent reservation, an increase of nine percent, for students of Other Backward Classes (OBC) from the next academic session.

"DU has decided to increase the number of seats in each course by 36 percent. That will bring up the total number of seats from 42,000 to 49,000," Vij said.
"From last year's nine percent OBC quota reservation, this year the reservation will be increased to 18 percent. Next year, the reservation will be increased to 27 percent as per the directions of the Supreme Court and the human resources development ministry," he added.
The admission process in DU will begin June 1 with the availability and submission of forms. The first cut off list will be announced June 25.
