The Hindu Education Plus and AIMS Education is organising the sixth edition of the state-wide Talent Search Test for students of classes VIII to XII and a workshop for the toppers. This year, the test is being conducted in 16 centres – Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchi, Salem, Tirunelveli, Thanjavur, Erode, Dindigul, Karaikudi, Vellore, Hosur, Karur, Cuddalore, Karaikal and Puducherry.
The Talent Search Test is a 30-minute scholastic aptitude test conducted at schools until August 6. Based on the performance in the test, invitations would be sent to schools intimating them about the students selected for participating in the workshop.
Two teachers can also accompany the students for the PROPEL workshop, which will be held on August 18 at Narada Gana Sabha, Alwarpet, here.
According to a release, three top rankers in each category would be awarded attractive cash prizes and given merit certificates. The resource team is headed by P.V. Navaneetha Krishnan, former Director, Entrance Exams and Admission, Anna University.
Last year around 1.5 lakh students from 390 schools participated in the test. Over 5,000 copies of the book ‘Spirit of Scientific Inquiry' were distributed to the participants.
