Due to the huge demand for international Communicative English Language Teacher Training Qualifications in South India, the British Council will run its inaugural CELTA from October 11 to November five at its recently opened Teaching Centre in Chennai.
The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) is the foremost globally recognised qualification for teachers of English and an international passport to a hugely rewarding career, a release from British Council here today claimed. It is awarded by the University of Cambridge and is a widely respected qualification.
One who had passed the course is recognised as a professional who is able to teach any level and has met the standards that allow him to teach anywhere in the world. Previously, South Indian teachers had to travel to Delhi, Mumbai or overseas to take part in the practical, four-week intensive course, it said.
