Tata Steel focuses on employment linked education

Tata Steel is focused on the promotion of employment linked education in Orissa.It has taken a number of initiatives to promote the same, in the state which includes measures like setting up of J N Tata Technical Education Centre (JNTTEC) at Gopalpur and also the setting up of ‘Self Employment Skill Development Institute’ (SESDI) at Belpahar by Tata Refractories Limited (TRL).


J N Tata Technical Education Centre set up by Tata Steel in Gopalpur at an investment of Rs 28 crore is imparting a three-year diploma course.
From last year, Tata Steel in collaboration with Orissa Schedule Caste /Schedule Tribe Development Finance Cooperative Corporation is also sponsoring a certificate programme in multi-technical skills for ST candidates.

SESDI is providing campus-based short and focused free training on self employment ventures to the needy youth.
