TNEA sold out 64,000 BE application forms

Chennai: Engineering hopefuls average of 64,245 acquired their application for the government's single window admission counseling.

A total of 13,653 students obtained the application forms in Chennai and the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) have convenient arrangements for issuing application forms across the state, and a total of  64,245 students have bought application forms on the first day, according to Dr V. Rhymend Uthariaraj, secretary.

Chennai Anna University vice-chancellor Mr P. Mannar Jawahar said that there were 1.35 lakh seats available in 354 engineering colleges in the state, of which 85,000 government quota seats would be filled after counseling.

The issuing of application started from  May 6 and it will end up by May 30. Moreover 25,000 applicants are expected to be added after medical counseling is over.
