CA course in India better than foreign countries: Jain

The Chartered Accountancy (CA) course in India was far ahead than America and Singapore in terms of providing quality of education, Board of Studies, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Chairman Vinod Jain said .

Talking to reporters after inaugurating the two-day National Convetion of CA students here, he said there was a huge demand for CA course in the country which led to getting recognition across the world.

Mr Jain said foreign countries were negotiating with India on the CA course and added that India was the largest exporter of trained CA students to other countires. The ICAI Chairman announced that the CA three-year course will be graduated to International Standards from April 1, 2011.

The National convention being held in the commercial city was first of its kind, Mr Jain said and claimed that the Institute which has about 6.5 lakh students pursuing the course across the country was also the largest educational Institution in the world.

''We are trying to take the CA course to the interior parts of the villages in the country,'' Mr Jain said, adding about 1.38 lakh students are appearing for Common Profession Test (CPT) in the country which is being conducted in June and December every year and of those 40 per cent are girls.'' He said plans are afoot to conduct the CPT every month by making the test online.
