Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will now offer programmes in Actuarial Economics, Applied Quantitative Finance and Environmental Economics.
''Those interested in pursuing Actuarial Economics, Applied Quantitative Finance and Environmental Economics can now apply at the School of Social Sciences at IGNOU,'' a University spokesperson said.
These programmes are being offered through joint collaboration between IGNOU and the Madras School of Economics (MSE) on a full-time on-campus basis with face-to-face teaching at the IGNOU campus at Maidan Garhi and MSE, Chennai.
The spokesperson said eligiblity for all the three programmes is graduation in any subject with strong mathematical or statistical background.
The admissions will be done on the basis of a Common Entrance Test, which will be held simultaneously at Chennai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai on July 14.
