Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would visit the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur on July 3 to address a convocation.
UP Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Brijlal today said Dr Singh would reach Chakeri airport and proceed for IIT-K by a helicopter. He would address the convocation function there and also take part in a programme organised by the industrialists.
Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Brijlal said that adequate security arrangements are being made in view of the PM's visit. ''We have made sufficient security arrangements as per demand of the district administration,'' he said.
Inspections for no lapse in security were also made today.
