New Delhi: A group of architecture students, who have been barred from writing the exams after falling short in attendance, met the Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal. Five of the affected students from the School of Planning and Architecture and one parent met the minister at his house.
“We are demanding that we must be allowed to appear in the exams,” said Uzair Siddiqui, a second year student who spoke to reporters outside Sibal's residence but did not meet the minister.
Protests by the students were on in the institute because many were prevented from giving the exams after falling short of the 75 per cent required attendance.
The exams for third year students started on Monday while those for first and second year began Tuesday.
Akshay Khurana, another second year student, said, “First, we want to give our exams. Second, we want to work out a system through which attendance is taken diligently and throughout the year.”
