Bhopal: The under-construction All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) along with 960 beds hospital at Bhopal would be ready by the year 2012.
The AIIMS Project in-charge and Chief Engineer, Ashutosh Mishra informed this to Madhya Pradesh Urban Development and Administration Minister, Babulal Gaur here today during a visit to the AIIMS site in Saket Nagar area.
The state government has allotted 200 acre land free of cost where at present staff quarters are being constructed. The total project cost is Rs 400 crore while at present 170 staff quarters and bungalows of different categories are being constructed at the project site with an estimated cost of Rs 23 crore.
Next month construction of the hospital and Medical and Nursing College would begin next month, Mishra said. A total of 39 departments related to different diseases will be constructed in the AIIMS.
The medical college building will be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 228 crore while nursing college, hostel, auditorium and other facilities will be constructed with a cost of Rs 148 crore, Mishra said.
The 960-bed super-speciality hospital will have specialist doctors, ultra-modern machines and operation theatres. The campus will also have a dharamshala to be constructed in five acre area for the family members of the outstation patients, he added.
