Convocation of Pondicherry University on April 2

Puducherry: The 20th convocation of the Pondicherry Central University will be held here on April 2.

According to official sources, Union Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal will deliver the convocation address and give away the degrees.

The university would confer Honarary Doctorate degrees on Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah, former Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University Professor Sattar and poet Javed Akthar on the occasion.

Union Minister of State for Planning, Parliamentary Affairs and Culture V Narayanasami, Puducherry Lt Governor Iqbal Singh and Chief Minister V Vaithilingam, among others, would participate in the convocation, the sources added.
