SSLC exams begin today

Chennai: The SSLC, Anglo Indian, Matriculation and Oriental board examinations begin today in TN & Puducherry.

About 8, 56, 966 students, including 4,34,443 girls, appear for the SSLC examinations from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. They will appear from 6, 493 schools.

Apart from this, 14,616 candidates will be sitting for the examinations as private candidates. Overall 1,30,020 students under the matriculation stream will write the examinations from 3,138 centres and 13,233 will be taking the examinations as private candidates.

In Chennai, about 17,400 students, 9,020 boys and 8,380 girls, will write their examinations. From Puducherry, 1,326 students, 754 boys and 572 girls, will appear for the examinations.

Under the Anglo Indian and Oriental boards, 2,270 students, including 1,279 girls, and 1,593 students will take their examinations respectively.girls.
