Post-membership Qualification (PMQ) courses in Competition Law and Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring have been approved by the Council of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and will be launched soon, said Vinayak S. Khanvalkar, president, ICSI, in Chennai recently.
He said web-based e-learning programmes launched by ICSI has met with good responses from students and this included both the CS Foundation course and the executive programme.
With global integration being the current trend, Mr. Khanvalkar said the institute had entered into an MoU with the Capital Markets and Capital Governance Institute of Maldives and the Securities and Investment Institute of London.
ICSI had also been the first professional body to start the process of setting secretarial standards and had recently released the SS-10 secretarial standard.
In future, ICSI would look to strengthen regional councils and chapters as they were crucial in ensuring that both students and members received quality services and inputs, he said.
