New Delhi: The Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely stated that no school would hike their tuition fees without the consent of Parents Teacher Association general body.
The minister said that parents could insist for an early meeting in case school authorities are hesitant to organize PTA meeting.
Schools have been asked to organize PTA to discuss the issue of fee hike in a transparent manner. Schools that have already hiked their fees without the consent from parents have to organise PTA at the earliest and take steps accordingly.
If the hike in the fees is higher than what is decided at the PTA then the difference has to be refunded or adjusted accordingly.
Singh expressed his views in a meeting of the All India Parents Association and Social Jurist.
Ashok Aggarwal president of the two organisations held the meeting to discuss the educational system and deteriorating conditions in MCD schools and the issue of fee hike.
Aggarwal even asked the city government to take over MCD schools.
