Puducherry: The Directorate of School Education (DSE), Puducherry, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oracle Education Foundation here.
Director of School Education Dr S Sundaravadivelu and Mr Krishna Sistla, Regional Director, Asia Pacific and Japan, Oracle Education Initiatives signed the MoU in the presence of Public Health Minister A Namasivayam.
As per the agreement, Oracle would impart training to 1,000 secondary and higher secondary school teachers here on the present learning system. This would enable the students to have practical knowledge and build up skillS in learning the subjects in the course of syllabus.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Namasivayam said teachers should update their knowledge and teach students by making use of the latest technologies such as computers.
Lauding the initiative, he said this would expose the students to the practical world and help them learn the contents of the syllabus and grasp full information about the subject.
Puducherry was making good progress in education sector, he said adding that government schools were securing higher percentage of passes in the public examinations. Oracle has come forward to provide training to the teachers free of cost.
