The Times Group brought B-School aspirants a little closer to their ultimate dream through the ‘Education Times Management Destination,10’ at the Bhawanipur Education society on Elgin Road. The Education Fair is being held on February 20-21 2010 from 11 am to 7 pm.
The event saw attendance from some of the leading B-Schools in the country as well as organisations that would help students with dreams of a degree from foreign shores. 20 such premier institutions and organisations spoke to students and parents clarifying doubts and informing them about the world of opportunities that lay ahead.
The representatives of the various institutions were very hopeful about the response they would get at the fair and most said they were there to reach out to students and make their journey to a B-school degree easier.
Representatives form the ITM Business School Mumbai, Aparajita, said they were here to “provide information about forms, placements, fees etc.”
Hopeful students started trickling in at 12 and from then on a business of collecting brochures, meeting representatives and sitting through enlightening sessions of live counselling started.
Ahammed Imtiaz, a student at the fair, said: “The fair is good with a line of very good institutions attending.”
Along with leading institutions in India, organisations such as SB International and the Sunita Bose banner were representing universities across the globe. While the former represented more than hundred institutions across the world the latter brought to the students leading UK universities such as Aston, Bradford and Sheffield to name a few.
Representative of the Sunita Bose Banner said, “ This is not just for Academically accomplished students, we want to provide an all round education where we tap any one with potential.”
The NSHM Institutes’ student representatives said they were there “to expose the aspirants to the institutions and also to give them a taste of campus life which only they know about.”
Another student Anurag said, “I am looking to apply for an MBA in 2011, this is going to be very helpful.”
The representatives also commented that the timing of the fair is very good as students applying to the next session can get all the information they require in their chosen field of education.
Suresh Babu, IFMR Chennai said, “We want to expose students in Calcutta to our leading label and our courses.”
Applying to college is one of the most nerve-racking experiences any student goes through. This Times initiative will help calm some of those nerves and give aspiring students a better perspective on the subject, the institutions and the life they will lead with high powered management degrees.
