New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Tuesday said it is striving to make learning a seamless process through digital libraries.
"With open and distance learning increasingly becoming popular, we are trying to bring in a set of recommendations by experts from across the world to make learning a smooth process," Sudhir Arora, chief librarian of IGNOU, said after the inauguration of an international conference.
Nearly 400 delegates from several countries are participating in the conference, which is also co-hosted by R.K. Pachauri-led The Energy and Research Institute (TERI).
During the next three days, the delegates will debate over several issues related to digital library and come up with a set of recommendations on this field.
Inaugurating the conference late Tuesday evening, Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal said there is need to develop a software which will help in filtering relevant data in the sea of information.
The minister said this will help researchers looking for specific data.
