Capacity building seems to be the buzz at present. In tune with the development, St. Joseph's College for Women (Autonomous) has been organising various capacity building programmes for the teaching and administrative staff.
Recently, the college organised a programme called ‘Colloque on PG chemistry' for the students and the staff of various branches of the chemistry department. According to the coordinator of the programme P. Aruna Devi, over 200 delegated participated in the programme. The college also organised a number of refresher courses for its teachers in the recent past. Last week, the college organised a workshop for its administrative staff under the topic ‘capacity building for enhanced office efficiency'. The workshop was conducted in association with UGC.
According to the coordinator of the workshop Ramani Dhanaraj, the workshop was conceived with the idea of creating a sense of self-worthiness and visibility among the administrative staff. The workshop was inaugurated by the former Vice Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University V. Balamohan Das. Principal of the college Veronica and other staff members were present.
