3 More PG course at Anna University

Vellore: Anna University is all set to start three more new PG courses from 2009-10, according to P. Mannar Jawahar, Vice-Chancellor.

Speaking to presspersons at Kingston Engineering College, Mr. Jawahar said that the new courses were M.B.A. in Hospitality Management, M.E. in Space Technology and a PG course in Advanced Architecture.

Participating in Kingston Day 2009 celebration, he distributed prizes to winners of sports events conducted by the college for its students. M. Ravichandran, former director of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, was the guest of honour. D.M. Kathir Anand, chairman of the college presided.

Talking about its recent triumph on the launch of ANUSAT that was developed at the cost of Rs.5.2 crore and would orbit the earth four times a day.
 
He said that the Anusat, a 40-kg satellite indigenously built by Anna University, Chennai, would be of use for the entire country.  The first satellite of its kind to be developed and launched by any university in India, it was designed, developed, fabricated and tested entirely by professors of Anna University. It is capable of storing and transmitting data.

Anna University being a trendsetter of designing satellite, other universities in India were following the pacesetter in designing satellites, Mr. Jawahar said.
